Here are some Orkney related web sites I have found
useful. E-mail me with suggested additions.
- Australian National Centenary Ancestral Project (Vicgold) -
This genealogy database was prepared by the Australian National Heritage
Foundation and contains 638,000 individuals extracted from the
Victoria, Australia Registrar's birth, marriage and death
certificates and early church records for families that immigrated
to Australia. It was available online until April 1998.
Records exist for births from the late 1700's to 1888. I
searched it by year (all surnames) from 1770 to 1888 and found a
large number of Orcadian immigrants from about 1800 to 1845 (birth
dates). I printed all entries and intend to prepare an index
which I will post here once completed.
- Caithness GENUKI - a site devoted to
the genealogy of people from Caithness (Orkney's

Marwick as part of his book Rousay Roots. This census data is posted

documents on Bill Teschek's Orkney Islands GENUKI Project Genealogy
